Award-Winning Chefs in Shreveport-Bossier Create Authentic Culinary Treats

To have great food is to have great chefs behind it. We’re lucky to have some of the best. Chef Anthony Felan and Chef Frank Harris are two of our community’s most renowned chefs. You can taste their talents any day at Fat Calf Brasserie and Frank’s Louisiana Kitchen.

Anthony Felan

After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in San Francisco, Chef Anthony Felan began cooking for some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area. However, his southern roots started calling and brought him back to Louisiana.

In 2017, Anthony was ready to begin a venture on his own which led to the opening of Fat Calf Boucherie. First, a stationary food trailer at Red River Brewing Company, the restaurant has grown throughout the years. You can now find it renamed as Fat Calf Brasserie and established as a neighborhood brick-and-mortar restaurant serving French-inspired Southern cuisine.

Visit Fat Calf Brasserie at 3030 Creswell Ave. in the Highland neighborhood.

Along with the restaurant, Chef Anthony showcases his talent through Chef’s Tables, 2nd Act Supper Club, and Fat Calf catering and private events.

Chef Anthony has been recognized as one of Louisiana Cookin’ magazine’s 2020 Chefs To Watch,  Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau’s 2022 Excellence in Hospitality Awards’ Chef of the Year, and the Louisiana Food Prize 2022 People’s Choice Award winner.  Fat Calf Brasserie was chosen by the Shreveport-Bossier community as SB Magazine’s Best New Restaurant in 2020.

Chef Frank Harris opened Frank’s Louisiana Kitchen May 2017 in Windrush Village in south Shreveport’s beautiful Provenance neighborhood. Their mission is for guests to feel like they took a trip to the “Big Easy,” without ever leaving town. They use the freshest seafood, meats and produce available (local whenever possible) and making every dish from scratch, using authentic, time-tested Louisiana recipes.

Both Chef Anthony Felan and Chef Frank Harris will be representing Shreveport-Bossier at the St. Francisville Food and Wine Festival. If you were lucky enough to score a ticket to the sold out event, we encourage you to go find Chef Anthony and Chef Frank.

If you were unable to go to the festival and are not local to the area, then a weekend getaway is required. These chefs’ exquisite cuisine has to be tried by everyone. Visit now book your trip.
