Mardi Gras season is rolling through Shreveport-Bossier with a lineup of colorful parades filled with dazzling floats, marching groups, beads, and throws. From the Krewe of Sobek launching the celebration to the signature parades of Krewe of Centaur and Krewe of Gemini, each parade brings its own flair and festive tradition to the streets. Grab a spot, catch the throws, and celebrate Carnival as it parades through the Red River region.

Prize Fest

Dates: October 15–19, 2025

Location: Downtown Shreveport, Louisiana

Prize Fest is a multi-day creative festival and competition celebrating film, music, food, fashion, and comedy. Across five packed days, creators compete for cash prizes, audiences vote, and Downtown Shreveport turns into a walkable campus of screenings, showcases, tastings, and parties.

Competitions & Prizes

  • Film Prize — 20 short films compete; the winner receives up to $50,000 (one of the largest short-film cash awards).
  • Music Prize — Live performances with $10,000 grand prize (with additional cash awards for runners-up and audience choice).
  • Food Prize — Six chefs face off for the Golden Fork; winner receives $5,000.
  • Fashion Prize$5,000 cash prize to the winner.
  • Comedy Prize — Stand-up competition with a $2,500 cash prize.
