2026 LHSAA State Wrestling Championships Return to Bossier City
Marking Year Two of Girls’ Wrestling

BATON ROUGE, La. — The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) is slated to host the 2026 LHSAA State Wrestling Tournament on February 6–7, 2026, at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisiana. The tournament will once again bring the Louisiana high school wrestling season to its championship conclusion.

The two-day championship will feature top student-athletes from across the state competing for state titles in Boys’ Divisions I, II, and III, along with the Girls’ Division. Recognized as one of the largest and most comprehensive state wrestling tournaments in Louisiana, the event will bring together hundreds of student-athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators. Action will take place simultaneously on multiple mats throughout the arena, creating a fast-paced and championship-level atmosphere from start to finish.

The LHSAA is proud to partner once again with the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission to host the state championship. This continued partnership plays a key role in supporting the operational demands of an event of this scale, while also enhancing the overall championship experience for participating schools and fans. The collaboration further highlights Northwest Louisiana as a proven host region for major high school athletic events.

The 2026 tournament also marks the second year of girls’ wrestling as a fully sanctioned LHSAA state championship sport and division. The continued inclusion of the Girls’ Division reflects the rapid growth of the sport statewide and the LHSAA’s ongoing commitment to expanding competitive opportunities for female student-athletes. Girls’ championship matches will again be contested alongside the boys’ divisions and will be featured during the finals session on Saturday evening.

Competition begins on Friday morning with opening rounds for all divisions and continues through Saturday. The championship concludes Saturday evening with the state finals, as the arena floor is reconfigured to showcase four championship mats, one for each division, providing a focused and memorable finals environment for athletes and spectators alike.

Fans unable to attend in person will have the opportunity to watch every match live, mat by mat, through the NFHS Network, ensuring comprehensive statewide access to one of Louisiana’s premier high school sporting events.
