Chef Niema DiGrazia is One of 11 Louisiana Chefs Headed to New York City
for Tourism Event in October
Shreveport-Bossier, LA – Shreveport-Bossier’s own Chef Niema DiGrazia of Abby Singer’s Bistro is among 11 renowned Louisiana-based chefs heading to New York City to showcase the state’s bold, unforgettable flavors at “Taste Louisiana.” On October 28, 2025, in partnership with Visit Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana Travel Association, and the Louisiana Office of Tourism, Chef Niema DiGrazia will help highlight the unique culinary styles of our region as part of a state-wide effort to showcase Louisiana’s bold flavors to the nation.
“I am deeply honored to represent the vibrant and growing Shreveport Bossier culinary scene on a national stage,” says Chef Niema. “This opportunity allows me to share the bold and soulful flavors of Afro Fusion cuisine, seamlessly blended with the distinctive flavors of North Louisiana. I am excited to showcase the heart of our community in New York and give the world a true taste of who we are.”
Members of the media will savor dishes from Louisiana’s top chefs, including multi–James Beard Award winner Alon Shaya of New Orleans, Michelin-recognized chef Peter Cooke of Lafayette, and Shreveport-Bossier’s own Chef Niema DiGrazia. Guests will sip cocktails made with local spirits, and dance to live music from Grammy-winning “Zydecajun” pioneer, Wayne Toups, and David St. Romain, a Louisiana-born country artist whose soulful voice reflects the state’s rich musical tradition. Taste Louisiana isn’t just a food event; it’s a preview of the rich palate, soulful cooking, and lively culture that make Shreveport-Bossier and our state unforgettable.
“We are so excited to bring all of the bright flavors and vibrant culture of Louisiana to New York City at this year’s Taste Louisiana event,” said Chris Landry, Louisiana Travel Association President and CEO. “With 11 amazing chefs, award-winning musicians, and classic Louisiana hospitality, this is going to be a night to remember.”
As Head Chef at Abby Singer’s Bistro atop the Robinson Film Center, Niema DiGrazia blends West African, Caribbean, and New American flavors into a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Named one of Louisiana Cookin’s “Chefs to Watch” in 2022, she recently showcased her talent nationally with a win on Food Network’s Beat Bobby Flay and competed on Chef Grudge Match.
Beyond her accolades, Chef Niema is committed to mentoring the next generation of chefs and using her platform to amplify voices in the culinary community. Her leadership, creativity, and dedication make her an outstanding ambassador for our region.
This October, as she represents Shreveport-Bossier alongside 10 other Louisiana chefs, DiGrazia will not only showcase Louisiana’s food traditions but also highlight the innovation and heart that make our local culinary community rich in diversity and flavor.
