Local Cornhole Tournament Directly Benefits First Responders and Military

Shreveport-Bossier, LA – The 5th annual Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at The Seventh Tap in the East Bank District. Registration for teams of two is now open. Proceeds from registration, raffle ticket sales, and a percentage of restaurant sales will be benefitting organizations that support first responders and military personnel in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

This year’s tournament offers more than just bragging rights—winning teams will take home cash prizes. The top three teams will win:

  • First place: $500 cash per team

  • Second place: $300 cash per team

  • Third place: $200 cash per team

In addition to earning a cash prize, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission will match the prize amount of each winning team and donate it to one of the event’s selected beneficiaries: Shreveport Bomb Squad, FRST, Operation Bright Holiday, and Dream Hunt Foundation.

“The Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament is our way of showing how thankful we are for the service of our first responders,” says Stacy Brown, President & CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “Their commitment to protect and serve ensures the success and safety of festivals and sporting events throughout the year for locals and visitors alike.”

In 2024, the event raised more than $8,000 and assisted 117 first responders by funding over 350 mental health sessions for those who might not have sought care otherwise. By participating in the Battle of the Bags cornhole tournament, players are directly helping organizations provide these heroes with the resources they need to continue their vital work.

To register, download the Scoreholio app and search for Battle of the Bags in the “find a tournament” tab. The tournament is open to all skill levels, and registration is $25 per person.
