Shreveport-Bossier Film Commissioner Earns

International Film Accreditation

Shreveport-Bossier, LA – Visit Shreveport-Bossier’s Film & Entertainment Commissioner, Wade Marshall, has officially earned the Certified Film Commissioner (CFC) designation through the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). The certification recognizes Marshall’s professional development and commitment to elevating film production efforts in Northwest Louisiana.

The certification consisted of online courses in Filmmaking, Economic Development, Marketing, & Management. Completion of Marshall's certification was done at AFCI’s Cineposium 2025 conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, where industry leaders from across the globe convened to discuss innovation, sustainability, and best practices in film production.

AFCI connects film commissions worldwide, providing access to professional development, industry data, and international studio relationships. Through this network, the Shreveport-Bossier Film & Entertainment Commission works alongside statewide partners to position Louisiana as a competitive filming destination, which will ultimately help bring more large-scale productions to the Shreveport-Bossier community.

“By earning AFCI's Certified Film Commissioner certification, Wade demonstrated his commitment to uphold the standards of operating and managing the Shreveport-Bossier Film Commission as a world-class hub for content creation,” said Marjorie Galas, Senior Director of Members & Education for AFCI. “Integrating AFCI’s network, training, and best practices will help Shreveport-Bossier convert interest into real productions and real economic impact.”

Independent film production continues to thrive throughout Caddo & Bossier Parishes, with ongoing efforts to grow crew depth, infrastructure, and workforce opportunities within the film industry. This will continue to prepare the Shreveport-Bossier community to support major studio productions in the future.

“This certification reinforces our commitment to growing Northwest Louisiana’s film industry, which strengthens our destination as a whole,” said Stacy Brown, President and CEO of Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “Having a Certified Film Commissioner enhances our ability to attract new productions, create local jobs, and showcase the people, culture, and character that make Shreveport-Bossier such a special place to live, work, and visit.”

The Film & Entertainment Commissioner recently traveled to Los Angeles to represent Louisiana’s film industry to major studio executives, helping elevate the state’s presence nationally and internationally. This statewide visibility ultimately supports efforts to promote Shreveport-Bossier’s unique strengths as a film destination.

“This certification opens doors to new partnerships and studio relationships that will help us grow the region’s film industry in a sustainable way,” said Wade MarshallCommissioner of the Film & Entertainment Commission, a division Visit Shreveport-Bossier. “It allows us to better advocate for Northwest Louisiana on a national and international scale, showing the industry what our community has to offer.”
