Shreveport Kickoff Classic Football Game at Independence Stadium
Shreveport-Bossier, LA – Grambling alongside the State of Louisiana, Parish of Caddo, City of Shreveport, The Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission with Visit Shreveport-Bossier and ASM Global, is thrilled to announce that tickets are now available for the much-anticipated Shreveport Kickoff Classic football game where Grambling State University will take on Langston University, scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Independence Stadium.
Independence Stadium will serve as the backdrop for a dynamic weekend celebrating the heritage, pride, and culture of two historic HBCU programs. Hosting Grambling State and Langston University in Shreveport-Bossier sets the stage for an unforgettable weekend of spirited competition and community connections.
In addition to the game on Saturday evening, the weekend will feature a variety of family-friendly activities across the Shreveport-Bossier area. The Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce will host community events, alongside alumni events hosted by Grambling and other cultural activations throughout the city. The 14th Annual Shreveport Blues & Southern Soul Festival will also take place, adding live music and vibrant action to the celebration.
