Do you live in or near Plano, Texas, or do you know someone who does? If so, mark your calendar for the Shreveport-Bossier Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party at event1013 in the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District, 7-10 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9. Or, if you live in the 21st Century and don’t have a paper calendar to mark, please RSVP to the Facebook event here.

This free party will include live music from Louisiana Music Prize-winning party band Tipsey, free gumbo from Creole Cafe’ & Catering, king cake samples from three Shreveport-Bossier bakeries, Mardi Gras beads, door prizes, a cash bar, and more. One lucky party attendee will win the Mardi Gras experience of a lifetime – the opportunity for the winner and a guest to ride on a float during the enormous Krewe of Highland Parade XXIV on Sunday, March 3! That giveaway may also be entered here (read the complete rules here).
Guests can also meet-and-greet Mardi Gras royalty and learn about all of the upcoming parades, parties, food events and more that are scheduled for the 2019 Carnival season in Shreveport-Bossier. The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau will be distributing free copies of the 2019 Gris Gris Guide to Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier, an annual guide to all things Mardi Gras in Northwest Louisiana. That guide can also be viewed in an e-reader version or downloaded at www.Shreveport-Bossier.org.
This event is being presented by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau in partnership with event1013 and the Historic Downtown Plano Arts District. Dress is casual and all are welcome – just like Mardi Gras itself. No ticket is required for entry.
