We’re pretty sure that the good people of Plano, Texas are still recovering from the 2019 Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party at event1013, when something like 1,500 folks stopped by for free gumbo and king cake samples, live music, door prizes, a cash bar, and—honestly—just an insane quantity of Mardi Gras beads. But, ready or not, here we come again: The 2020 Shreveport-Bossier Mardi Gras Pop-Up Party will return to event1013 in Downtown Plano, 6-9 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 23. RSVP to the party on Facebook.
This year’s edition of the party will feature live music by Shreveport-Bossier’s own Muzikology, gumbo and stuffed shrimp samples from Orlandeaux’s Café and Chef Chapeaux Chapman, king cake samples from local Shreveport-Bossier bakeries, beads, door prizes, Mardi Gras event calendars, and more. Admission to the party is free and open to the public. Though all ages are welcome to attend, parents should know that there’ll be a live band and a cash bar in the space.

This free, come-and-go party is presented by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau in order to promote upcoming Mardi Gras parades and events taking place now through Fat Tuesday, Feb. 25. Find complete info on Mardi Gras in Shreveport-Bossier at www.ShreveportMardiGras.com.
