On Monday, June 1, Gov. John Bel Edwards announced that Louisiana would move to “phase two” of business re-openings (see details of phase two here) on Friday, June 5. Phase two allows lots of beloved local businesses to resume operations and also allows other businesses, such as restaurants and movie theaters, to increase their permitted occupancy from 25% to 50%.

Here are a few popular spots that will resume welcoming guests this week:

The Agora Borealis, a local products marketplace in downtown Shreveport, reopened on Thursday, June 4.

This sprawling local arts marketplace in downtown Shreveport reopened at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 4. Current hours of operation, as of June 4, are 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Like many retail shops and attractions, The Agora Borealis has introduced several measures to insure the comfort and safety of shoppers.

“We ask that our customers and friends and family wear masks, and we’ll have gloves and hand sanitizer available at our front desk as well,” Larsen said. “We’ll have masks available at our front desk, or you can wear your own, of course. But who doesn’t want a beautiful mask made by a local artist?”
