The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is hosting a free Reunion Planning Workshop and Vendor Fair on Saturday, Jan. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport, 5971 Financial Plaza. This event is designed to take the pain of out event planning, especially for new event organizers that are leading the charge on their next family, class, or military reunion. Although the event is free, registration is required to attend. Click here to register.
Whether you’re planning your reunion now or later, this workshop is a one-stop-shop for event organizers that are seeking more insight on how to plan reunions in the Shreveport-Bossier area. Attendees will be entered into giveaways, attend a short seminar, browse local vendors and more. If you’re a local caterer, event planner, hotel, photographer, or musician, join the workshop as vendor.
Some say that event planning is one of the most stressful jobs in the world. So, I asked a few local event organizers to describe what it’s like to plan their largest events, and this is what they said:
- “Imagine spending an entire day putting out various fires from beginning to end. Some fires are more of a spark, and some are completely out of your control. That’s event planning.”
- “You ever bake a cake and follow the recipe word for word? I mean, you did everything just as instructed, and the final product seems absolutely perfect. Until a few guests find eggshells in their slice of cake and now, you have to bake another one.”
- “Event planning is rough. Between the long-term stress and unexpected issues, I don’t know why I do it. I don’t know how I do it. I guess I’m just crazy.”
If you’re not a seasoned event planner, attend the Reunion Workshop and Vendor Fair to eliminate hassles at your next family, class, or military reunion. Click here for more information about the event.
