October is here, which means it’s officially time to get into the Halloween spirit! If you’re looking for haunted attractions, spooky seasonal events, or other ways to get an adrenaline rush going, this is the list for you!

Fair Fun

State Fair

Grab your friends and head over to the Louisiana State Fair! From exhilarating rides to mouthwatering fair food, it’s an event you won’t want to miss! Get your blood pumping on thrilling rides like “The Defender,” indulge in all your favorite fairground treats like cotton candy, corndogs and fried Oreos, or brave the haunted house!

The car wash...with a spooky twist!

You’ve heard of haunted houses, but what about a haunted car wash? This year, NecroManor is taking the scares from the Louisiana Boardwalk to RocketFast Car Wash! Drive through for a wash while coming face-to-face with terrifying creatures lurking around every corner, from the legendary Rougarou to “Captain Scream” himself. You’ll leave with a clean car, a good scare and the chance to support a great cause—a portion of all proceeds benefits the National Kidney Foundation of Louisiana.

Details: October 29th through October 31st from 7 pm to 11 pm at RocketFast Car Wash: 7320 Youree Drive, Shreveport, La. More details here.

Haunted Houses

Enter one of Shreveport-Bossier’s most frightful haunted attractions—if you dare! Located next to JCPenney inside Pierre Bossier Mall, Haunted Manor is filled with monsters, creepy-crawlers and frightening surprises lurking around every corner. Grab your bravest friends and venture inside to see who can make it all the way through without getting too spooked.

Details: 8 pm to 11:30 pm at Pierre Bossier Mall: 2950 E. Texas Street, Bossier City, La. Get more details here.

Ziplining

ZiplineGatorandFriends

Did you know Shreveport-Bossier has a place where you can zipline above a pit of live gators? Just a short drive outside the city limits, you’ll find Gators and Friends Adventure Park, where wild encounters and big thrills go hand in hand. Watch live feeding demonstrations led by experienced staff, stroll through the petting zoo to meet everything from goats and deer to kangaroos, and then work up the courage for the most hair-raising adventure of all—soaring through the air above the alligator habitat! Now that’s a memory you won’t forget anytime soon.

Details: Gator and Friends is open 10 am to 5 pm Wednesday-Friday and Sunday and 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday. The park is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Please call ahead to zipline since ziplining is first come first serve.

Zombie Walk

Throw on your best costume and shuffle over to the Louisiana Boardwalk for this year’s Zombie Walk! Browse local vendors, compete in the zombie costume contest, enter to win door prizes, and enjoy live music, games and delicious eats from local food trucks. This year’s theme is “Bad to the Bone,” a playful pet-themed twist celebrating Pet Palooza and the Super Retriever Series, which are also taking over the Boardwalk that same weekend.

Details: October 25th from 3 pm to 8 pm at the Louisiana Boardwalk. More details can be found here.
